Weekly Practice with Sister Maggie

Maggie trains worldwide with master White Crane Silat teachers and spent two years in Indonesia under the tutelage of the teacher and grandmaster, Suhu Gunawan Rahardja. She has a keen eye for structure and guides students in a precise foundation for supported, centered, and balanced unfolding. With a manner that is natural, lighthearted, grounded and precise, Maggie empowers each student with new physical options and expanding awareness.

Classes are tailored to the needs and abilities of participants. Wear loose white t-shirt and pants with cinched ankles.  Be prepared to sweat and bring a sweater.

The children’s Silat class has been an amazing and joyful experience for our seven year old. Our son comes home excited to show us what he has learned in class that day and that excitement continues throughout the week. From this parent’s point of view, the children get to explore the full range of their body capabilities, breath control and how to interact with others as they move through the physical space of the studio. We couldn’t be more thankful to “Mama Maggie” for sharing this beautiful art form with us.
