Women's IntroDUCTORY SERIES

FIVE TUESDAYS, MARCH 6 - APRIL 3, 2018

In this beginning class for women, we practice for the internal effects of the movements, both physically and energetically. We set a yogic mind and breathe open the heart, while cultivating active engagement with the world. Practice brings balance, centering, grounding, lightness, and harmony. Our nature inspired movements are novel, intentional, functional... and fun! A foundation is set for open participation in weekly classes.

Classes held at Fairfax Community Church - 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Fairfax, CA 94930

SILAT AND NATURE INTENSIVE

SUmmer 2019

"Sojourning in Ta-yu mountains,
Who converses with the white crane that comes flying?
How many times have the mountain people
Seen the winter plum-flowers blossoming?
Spring comes and goes,
Deep in fallen flowers and streams.
People are not aware
Of the many immortals around them."
- Lu Dong Bin

In this "advanced beginner" workshop we take advantage of Marin's abundant natural beauty. White Crane Silat practice in a studio is interspersed with guided walks in Nature. We take time to employ our breathing exercises while surrounded by nature's majesty. Students have the opportunity to play with their natural gait on the trail, integrating the variety of silat "walks" we practice in the studio. Connections are made between the internal and the external. We explore the experience of "chi."
